There was a large disconnect between the number of people moving into the area and the number of houses being sold...the other factor was a lot of people were buying homes using low teaser rate loans which allowed them to purchase a bigger home than they could really afford. Now that some of these loans have reset to higher rates, a lot of people are facing financial difficulty."
