Women Explore Sacrificial Cave, Climb Pyramids on Belize Trip
A 7-day Belize trip lets women discover Mayan ruins, explore an eerie ceremonial cave, snorkel with sting rays, meet village locals, and more. Led by an archaeological expert, this trip is ideal for single women who want a tropical adventure.

MESA, AZ, November 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Adventurous Wench has announced a Belize Reefs & Ruins Adventure. This 7-day trip, March 7-13, 2010, takes in the best of Belize, from its sandy beaches and coral reefs, to the Mayan ruins and jungle wildlife of the interior.

The trip is led by an archaeologist who worked at the Mayan ruins in Belize for years. She leads the group through the ruins of ancient cities, including Lamanai - a Mayan city that once was home to 40,000 people, and now lies in partially excavated ruins. Guests can explore the site, climb a pyramid, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the excavation project.

There's also a chance to explore a cave where the Maya performed human sacrifices centuries ago. After hiking through the jungle, crossing a river, wading through a cave, and scrambling up some rocks, participants arrive at the ceremonial chamber, littered with Mayan pots and human skulls that provide grisly reminders. This is truly an unforgettable experience.

A very different part of Belize is Ambergris Caye, a skinny island with sandy beaches, and great snorkeling over the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. Guests can snorkel with sting rays, nurse sharks, and a world of colorful reef fish.

Adventurous Wench founder Deanna Keahey said "A very special part of the trip is a chance to meet the people in a small Belizean village, cook a traditional lunch with the women there, and give something back to the local community. All in all, this Belize trip is one of our most exciting adventures."

The Belize trip for women is March 7-13, 2010. The standard price of $2995 includes accommodations at a beach resort in the cayes and thatched roof cabanas in the jungle, transportation within Belize by boat, plane and private van, and all meals except one. Adventurous Wench also offers a Layaway Plan that allows travelers to make installment payments on their trips, saving money on credit card interest charges.
